Hahaha – danke!! Ha! Gewonnen.

Ellipses are the Eeyore of punctuation.

Finally someone says what I have been thinking so much about! Already love them and use them in my writing — there’s literally no better dramatic pause to take the place of the quiet parentheses — and I refuse to stop! Even if someone thinks I’ve used AI haha

Semicolon was invented by computer scientists to mark the end of the statement in ALGOL-58 specifically, and then used for the same purpose in C and other derivative programming languages. Don't believe wild claims of deranged typographers ━ Aldus Manutius could not invent semicolon because he was not a computer scientist, he invented a fancy comma which has the same exact shape as semicolon for historical reasons.

And my em-dash is longer and thicker than yours ━ because it's a box-drawing character.

I don't like emdashes because I don't know how to use them. So I tell Claude to delete them haha

I'm astonished and disappointed that there's not one mention of Emily Dickinson in this post
